Announcement of The Tan Kah Kee Science Awards 2012 & The Tan Kah Kee Young Scientist Awards 2012

The TAN KAH KEE Science Award and Tan Kah Kee Young Scientist Award 2012 has been chosen by the Evaluation Committee and Foundation Board recently.  The award ceremonyfor the Tan Kah Kee Science Awards 2012 will be held in June, 2012, at the 16th GeneralAssembly of Chinese Academy of Sciences.

The winners of the Tan Kah Kee Science Awards 2012

  1. XUE Qikun, Professor of the Department of Physics, Tsinghua University, Chen Xi, Professor of the Department of Physics, Tsinghua University, Ma Xuncun, Professor of Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, win the Tan Kah Kee Science Award in Mathematics and Physics for their innovative work on "Growth and Quantum Phenomena of High Quality Topological Insulator Films".
  2. ZHU Daoben, Professor of the Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, wins the Tan Kah Kee Science Award in chemistry for his innovative work on "Functional materials based on pi-conjugated molecular systems".
  3. TANG Zhaoyou, Professor of the Zhongshan Hospital Fudan University , wins the Tan Kah Kee Science Award in Life Sciences for his innovative work on "Studies on early diagnosis, early treatment and metastasis of hepatocellular carcinoma".
  4. YANG Xuejun, Professor of the National University of Defense Technology, wins the Tan Kah Kee Science Award in Information Sciences for his innovative work on "Scalable Parallel Computer Techniques".

The winners of the Tan Kah Kee Young Scientist Award 2012

  1. PENG Chengzhi, Professor of the University of Science and Technology of China, wins the Tan Kah Kee Young Scientist Award in Mathematics and Physics Sciences for his innovative work on "Experimental research of quantum communication".
  2. HU Jinbo, Professor of the Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, wins the Tan Kah Kee Young Scientist Award in Chemistry Sciences for his innovative work on "Study on the Unique Fluorine Effects in Fluorinated Carbanion Chemistry and Their Applications".
  3. SONG Baoliang, Professor of the Shanghai Institute for Biological Scicences, Chinese Academy of Sciences, wins the Tan Kah Kee Young Scientist Award in Life Sciences for his innovative work on "Mechanistic and applied studies on cholesterol homeostasis".
  4. WANG Yuming, Professor of the University of Science and Technology of China, wins the Tan Kah Kee Young Scientist Award in Earth Sciences for his innovative work on "Geoeffectiveness of Solar Coronal Mass Ejections".
  5. GAO Huijun, Professor of the Harbin Institute of Technology, wins the Tan Kah Kee Young Scientist Award in Information Sciences for his innovative work on "Analysis and Synthesis of Dynamic Systems in Network Environment".
  6. CHENG Yongjun, Professor of the Lanzhou Institute of Physics, wins the Tan Kah Kee Young Scientist Award in Technological Sciences for his innovative work on "Application of non evaporable getter in extending the lower limit of vacuum primary standards".
